Guys, I need to know how the hell to update the drivers to this laptop I got.

It's a toshiba P100, but I think I need one of those startup disc.

Problems are:

- Laptop lid closes, goes in to hibernate mode and will not come out.

- Sound drivers are not installed and the thing just beeps. Wanna use the cool harmon kardon speakers!

It also seems like there are a few variations of the P100 model, and I'm not sure exactly which this is. Any way to find out in the software?

Thanks in advance,
ev

+1 hibernation is such a worthless "feature" that causes way more problems than its worth..."Standby" will suffice...

Its disabled.

Something still not right. :/

Need drivers for M60, I figured out that is the correct model of laptop.

Go to Control Panel, System Tools, System Information. That will tell you everything that is in your system.

If you go to the Components section, it will tell you what Sound Device you have. Once you know that, you can Google the drivers you need to enable the sound. You may have to drive several different drivers to find the correct ones, but if you can't get the Toshiba drivers, it's your only other solution.

Also, go to the power settings in Control Panel and configure your laptop to go into Standby instead of Hibernation, but also disable hibernation if you haven't done so.
