We did this last year for the first time, and it got 7 BARFers new bikes. (http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=148534)
Once again, for just over a week only, any brand-new 2007-model bike in inventory is yours for the invoice price from the factory to us, plus $200 plus fees - tax, doc, license and $100 freight/setup. Any new Honda, Hyosung, Kawasaki or Suzuki.
Any new 2006 model or older still in inventory is yours for our invoice cost from the factory, plus tax, doc & license only. That's right, our cost, and we'll even eat the freight and setup costs we had to pay.
Sale runs now through closing 1/13/2007, inventory in stock only, must complete purchase by 1/13/2007, must have a BARF username. We're not advertising this anywhere else - this is a test of BARF ads.
Why? January's always slow, so we're saying what the hey, let's see what an ad on BARF will get us. We figure, one or two deals at most? What's the worst that could happen? Prove us wrong and show up by the dozens.
This is your best opportunity right now to get the latest and greatest for the lowest price around.
PLEASE: Don't post or call asking for out-the-door prices. Come on in if you're serious, and we'll show you the math right there. Invoice plus $200 plus fees on '07s, invoice plus fees on '06 or older. It's OK to call asking if we have a particular model in stock, though. Make this work, and we might keep doing this every January.

What do we mean by "fees?"
1. Sales tax - based on your county of registration, 7.25 - 8.5%. 100% passed on to the county.
2. DMV registration - about 2% of the bike price, passed 100% to the DMV.
3. Tire recycling fee $3.50 100% passed to the state of CA.
4. $45 doc fee, which covers processing costs of the above plus finance paperwork if you need it.
5. Our freight and setup costs, probably $100 - $200 combined, depending on the size and complexity of the bike - CRF50, low, Goldwing, high. We have to pay the shipping company, and we have to pay the mechanic who set up the bike and made sure everything's how it's supposed to be. $200 maximum, which means we'll lose a little on the bigger bikes. But that's our problem.
And that's it.
The $200 we're adding as "profit" on '07s covers rent, insurance, flooring interest, advertising, utilities, payroll, gas, bookkeeping and everything else. On the older models we'll make nothing, but it clears up a spot on the showroom floor.
