At the moment, there is no talk of an SDK and the apps are likely signed. I would expect it'll open up at SOME point, however.

My concerns are:

1) doesn't appear to have a user replaceable battery. This is a MAJOR oversight. I require a spare battery for my phone. When the battery goes, I swap, I don't want to, nor can I afford to wait for it to recharge.

2) How do you protect the shiny front with a case yet still be able to use the touch screen?

3) Most cell phones can be easily operated with one hand for at least BASIC functions (calling ppl, etc). This doesn't appear too viable with the iPhone, but I'll have to see once I can actually HOLD one.
(of course a bluetooth headset with voice commands might be fine for getting past this usability concern).

It won't be called iPhone, come June. It will have a new name, probably a symbol you can't pronounce. :teeth

I feel the Apple "iPhone" is over rated. There are phone that can play MP3s already plus can take great pitures and good phone signal.

Try a Blackberry. Yes, even as just a phone.

On my Cingular 8125, you can click on any MP3 that's loaded on it and turn it into a Ringtone.

It's possible. :cool

I loaded different firmware on mine, added email push, unlocked it, and have it overclocked. I'm not really sure what the out of box units do.

Seriously, as with anything; Bikes, cars, computers . . .

If it lacks a feature or has some kind of short coming, Mod it, rather then buying a new one.

Here are a couple of websites that can help with unlocking, supercharging, and/or totally change the feature set of your cell phone.

yeah, but lots of phone do that now, don't they? if not, they all will soon. the ui on the iphone's pretty unique (as far as i know) and the sensors?! it's not just a phone that plays music and takes photos -- if i cared about that, i'd already have one. but i can't wait to test run the iphone.
