how the hell do you clear the search history whe using firefox 2.0.0.1?

I'm assuming you are talking about the search bar.

You can go to Tools>Clear Private Data . . .

or you can go to Tools>Options>Privacy and uncheck "Remember what I enter in forms and search bar."

You can also clear the private data from there or set it to clear the private data when you close FF.

If you have Googlebar, you can pick the pulldown on the left side, and choose Clear Search History. You can also set it in the Googlebar Options to not keep the history.

I did try those methods you described but when i would go back and enter the letter "a" for example to see if there where any of the searches in the search history it would still show some searches.

I looked into it further and when I would enter "a" into the search bar it would come up with a match like "amazon" for example with the word "suggestion" next to it.

Im thinking that after I clear the search history and private data and I go to do a new search there are suggestions displayed on the search ba. How do I turn this off?

TOOLS, OPTIONS, General tab, uncheck "Search for text when I start typing".

Thanks! I figured out that firefox always spits out suggestions when i type in the search box. Anyone know of a way to turn this off?
