Anyone thinking about going to Coachella this year? One heck of a lineup:

http://www.coachella.com/ (down at the moment, but should be back up soon).

Personally, I'm a Björk fanatic, and I've been kicking myself forever about not seeing Rage Against the Machine while I had the chance, so here it is, and I don't want to miss it. Chili Peppers are a nice bonus too.

Anyway, I was thinking about racking up some miles on the bike and getting some good forearm exercise. Anyone interested in cruising down with me? I haven't gone on a long ride like that and don't know what kind of trouble I might get into, so some additional riders to would likely be helpful AND fun.

Hmm... nobody wants to go on a long ride to rock out for three days? I'm actually pretty surprised. Hope someone's into the idea, but I'll probably do it on my own anyway if not. I'm gonna need some normal handlebars first though, I think.

i just rode down to LA last week from marin county. i had planned on taking 101 and making a road trip out of it but left too late and had to take I-5. what long boring ride that is. is was freezing dude. i was cought in the middle of that freeze that wiped out the citrus crop. i had to perch at a motel cause it was too damn cold to ride at night. then I-5 at the grapevine going into LA was snowed in and closed so i had to cut over to 101. a 6.5 hr ride turned into 2 days and 11 hrs on the 2nd day. it sucked. cochella is in the summer or spring? isnt it really expensive for tix?
I was pissed I missed the double headliners of Tool and Rage Against the Machine some years ago.
if you go dont take I-5. make a scenic trip and take your time and go 101 or hwy 1 if you really wanna do the scenic route.
sounds like something id be up for except for the cost of the whole trip put together-hotel, tix, etc.

Yeah, I-5 sucks, and although it's much faster, I've made a personal vow to avoid it from here on out. I'm planning on 101 at the moment, but going down the 1 with a night or two at random hotels might be the way to go. Coachella's in the summer, so the weather should be friendly. The tix are pricey, around $75 a day I think. I'm planning on camping at the site with some friends or perhaps staying at a friend's-friend's place. I think it'll be worth the price though, which should be manageable with enough forethought. Time will tell...

I just bought my tickets finally, so I'm officially going. I'll be camping to save some money I can spend on gas and food. I have a bunch of friends from different circles going, so I don't plan to make a 3-day social event out of this, but some riding buddies would still be nice. There were a couple PM's... hope they pan out.
