fork size question

so let's say i got an f4i that has a messed up front end and I know a lot of people swap their front ends with inverted froks from 929/954/1000rr or gixxer 1000s. Now are those forks mentioned the same size as the 636 forks? Cause i was thinking I could just get some 929 tripples and use the rest of the front end from my old 636 since I already have it. Would that work?

Yes people do things that create huge amounts of work with poor results and lots of problems.

The F4i front end is a good setup, cheap and works well. If you use some 929 triples you will end up with forks that are almost certainly a different distance apart than the 636. If you swap a front end, at least swap the whole thing, triples, forks, wheel, brakes and fender. That minimizes the problems.
