ok so i took off both the covers because i was puttin on new gaskets and just wanted to tear down the motor to clean it up and what not. after takin it all apart and puttin on gaskets i couldnt figure out the bolts to the bolt holes. i dunno if they have the size for holes in the manual but either way i do not have one. I need to know which length bolts for which holes. i rather not test it out by trial and error because i do not want to crack my block. I have an xr50 replica but i figure its the same for the geniunes so yeah if u know or can take off some bolts for me it would be much appreciated thanks a bunch fellow barfers.

without a manual the best thing to do is goto www.ronayers.com or www.partsfish.com and look @ the case/block and see which bolts go where.

Most manuals won't have which bolts go where. It generally a picture that says which to remove, with instructions that say installation is reverse of removal. That said, it's pretty unlikely that you'll crack the block. Use your fingers to finger tighten the bolts carefully, paying special attention to whether the bolt is cross-threaded. If a bolt bottoms before meeting the part, you know it's too long for the location. If the holes are not blind, watch the other end to see if it'll hit anything. If they aren't blind, but open into the case, tighten very carefully and feel for obstructions. Operate the clutch and turn the motor over by hand to see if anything hits.

You will need the manual, however, to get the torque specs. It's pretty critical that you get them right. They're often a lot smaller on gasketed junctions than you think they'll be. You've got a torque wrench, right? ;)

<EDIT> Elskipador beat me to the punch...and with better advice! Not too surprising. Listen to him first, and if that doesn't do it, you might take my advice.

Insert them without tightening and arrange them so all are showing the same distance from the bolt head to the case.

most of the large bolts should go in about 20 - 28mm, and all about the same of the type.

the manual should have a skematic... but when in doubt, do what a7 and el said.
