hey how's it going...n00b here from the East Bay, Walnut Creek by way of San Diego.
I dont have a bike yet, i know i know, but I figured the best way to find out if I actually want to ride and it's not a dumb fad is to meet some people that actually do. And they also might make me avoid going all out on some 750 and totalling myself...and the nice new bike.
I see alot of advice to start small - say 250 or 500- and I guess im just really eager to find out if getting one is for me or not.
Hit me up if you are in the area and fancy grabbin a beer or whatever and hangin' out...or if you wanna gimme some advice on what to buy and where to get my CHP cert. dealy.
Thanks!
Mat

There's a MSF course at Sierra College. Don't know if there's anything closer to you than that, you'll need to check the MSF site. Wherever you DO go, get registered NOW. There's usually a month or three waiting list.
And SILLLLLVER!

Welcome!
+2 on the finding a MSF course near you. That may give you a better idea of what kind of riding and what kind of bike you will want to get.
Search the yellow pages for motorcycle shops and m/c accessory shops near you to find out more, and try on gear to find what fits you properly.

Hey I'm in Walnut Creek, too.
Just started riding myself, too.
But for all I know, that may be all we have in common... :)
Welcome home. If you haven't lived here before, I'm sure you'll love it. Some people are the typical assholes, but look past that to the hills, the views, the animals and the life energy it has.

:newbie Mat!!
Read all the Stickies at the top of this & General sections... take the MSF class (www.msf-usa.org) and gear up with good gloves, boots & leathers - you'll never regret it! ;)
