How does one save a jpg file from a powerpoint presentation?

I'm no PPT expert, but ... if you can't rightclick/save it (ie. it was an image created in powerpoint itself) then it's probably easiest to screenshot the image and crop out the parts of the slide that you don't need.

How do you screenshot the image?

PrtScr to capture the entire screen.

Alt-PrtScr to capture just the active Window.

if you're in edit mode, you can just copy & paste from the slide into paint.

after you hit [prt scr], then open paint (or other image editing program) and paste. then edit and save as necessary.
