I'm the new guy and a "recovering" cruiser. Like the long rides, but not the thumpy, sluggish machine (no good on the twisties). Thinking about getting myself into a sport-touring, like the Futura or the VFR. Recommendations welcome...

Also try to post your questions on the "General" section as well, as not many people read the Newbies section.

Check out the sport-touring section. You'll find all kinds of goodies. :)
Have fun and enjoy :barf

Can't go wrong with a VFR, especially the 1998 - 2001 version with the musical cam gear whine and no VTEC complexity to deal with.
Ducati's ST2/ST3/ST4 series bikes are fantastic as well.
My favorite though, is the Multistrada. It's a long way from a cruiser and it doesn't look like a sportbike, but it handles like one and will keep you comfortable all day with a few simple mods.
Whatever you choose, have fun!
