i'm heading back to hollister on prez day. i wasn't too happy with the state of my riding last tuesday.

im down to hit some trails, but a lot of what I want to do is hit certain trails hard & over & over again. it's either that or stay home and watch Jerry Springer. Should be nice and muddy!!!

Presidents day is free for me. Ill be doing some sort of a street ride Valentines day(also my 5th annaversary), Saturday and Sunday my wife and Ill be in Monterey celibrating our annaversary, Monday the 17th im riding dirt w/ the boyz.

I would be down for clear creek except I'd have to borrow a truck, i heard the road into theres not too great, expecally after a rain, but if we can all agree on that I'll figure out a way to get there

Clear Creek is actually awesome after a rain. I heard its really dry up there so this rain would do it good. Although, Clear Creek is kinda far coming from San Mateo for a daytrip. Im down either way though:teeth

I did a daytrip to Clear Creek with a friend right after it rained all night. We had no business even being there. The snot was so bad you could hardly ride down the main road. We rode for an hour or so then packed up in disgust. As we were headin back to Hollister the sun came out, it warmed a little so we said what the hell and hit up Hollister Hills for the day:teethIt turned out to be a fun day!

Keep in mind there is a National Enduro this Sunday at Clear Creek.

I'm riding at Moonrocks (north of Reno) Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Depending on the weather I may see you guys @ Hollister on Sunday or I may go ride the Quicksilver.
I will be going to Hollister with my son on Monday...

i've heard good things about clear creek , but never been...how far south is it? hollister is already a bit of a drive from SF.

On second thought the road conditions into hollister or cc won't bother me, i'll just pull over and ride in, dual sports are suposed to be for that exact purpose :) :)

Clear Creek is about 30-45 mins south of Hollister. I have been there once and it is great... if you ride with someone that knows where to ride. ;)
It is a BLM so there is no signs, no rangers, nada. I went with 2 friends that had never been there either and we got lost. It took us hours to finally find another group of riders that helped us get back to the parking. :wow

Pierre, I cant decide what the hell to do. I want a 4stroke racebike of some sort but I have to get rid of one of my dirtbikes first. I think idealy what I would like is to sell the DRZ and buy a CRF250 or YZ250f and keep the KX. Ill get rid of whichever bike sells first.
After we move at the end of the month ill list both bikes in CycleTrader and Yahoo, Craigslist etc.

Doing a bunch of front suspension mods this weekend, hopefully it'll make a difference. Also, found a nice carb vent mod which should fix my 'fall over and flood the carbs'.

Nope, I'm gonna get a trackday bike as well... Looking as some used 600/750 racebikes (ZX6R, R6, Sixxer,...). I don't want a registered street legal bike so I am not tempted to ride the loop and push too hard... So track-only it's going to be... :teeth
