Seriously :cry . I saw one pic, thinking there would be more. I would have 100 shots of that bike. No one has posted a decent amount of pics. Can you do us a favor and take a bunch of your bike. I checked Ducati.ms and Speedzilla and didn't see any there either. Thanks

?
Someone else's helmet hit the ground, hard enough to fling the visor off 6 feet away. Mine is usually on the ground. It sure was windy that day.
Never heard it quite put that way about the bike. It usually comes in the form of, "Keep the rubber side down" or "keep the shiny side up".

Yes, but they didn't have the gold vented cover that I wanted in stock so it'll have to be next month. Although they did have black vented clutch cover that looks like the rim with gold plates which looked pretty cool too.

hows the riding position? it looks like it would be hard to use your legs to anchor yourself to the bike while braking.

It's just like riding a MV Agusta F4S. Pinches your hands while turning lock to lock. No compromise. Either you're scooted back full tuck or you're dying with your body right up on the tank. The 996 was a lazyboy couch in comparison.

Not too sure, I've only got 150 miles on it so I want to break it in right before I rupture the fork seals with my amateur wheelies.
I can say that the power comes on everywhere in the powerband and it literally corners on rails. I've not ridden the base 1098 so I am not sure what the difference the forged wheels made on my S but it flicks like a 250 bike and holds a line perfectly.
You'll be trudging along at 4,000rpm and then throw it into a corner and crank it on and you won't get much lash or feedback from the throttle because it feels very soft and next thing you know, you're 20mph faster than you thought.
I know it sounds redundant for every bike but I've ridden quite a few and this brings it up another notch in precision. Ducati was never about ultimate 4 cylinder type power but precise handling with useable power.

Reef... I paid way too much for this bike, but emotions took over once I saw it, what can you say? You only live once and I was lucky because the allotment is sold out for this year so those who want one would have to wait for the 2008 shipment.

NO!!! U got ripped off if u paid more than " 86 FZ600, 93 CBR600, 94 ZX-7, 95 CBR900, 5 GSXR'S AND NOW 2005 ZX-10R!" all put together !!! but on the other hand the MSRP to that bike is $19995.00 so couple of grand over that would be reasonable since it just came out, CONGRATS ON A GREAT LOOKING BIKE!

Exactly, that's why it was worth it to me to pay the premium. I never liked being on the same bike, it's not why I am a motorcyclist. I also don't wear the same gear and I avoid the Icon, Joe Rocket, etc. with a passion.
http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/images/threads/000/196/173/3030491-image242a.jpg
Great looking bike. What is the big deal about those? Not being an ass, just don't know anything about them.
lawman800
03-16-2007, 08:42 PM
No big deal at all considering it's old Desmodromic technology in a V-twin which started being outclassed as soon as the AMA and WSBK went to 1000s across the board. That, and also the fact that a properly ridden 600 or 750 I4 can run rings around it, there's nothing special about it at all.
On the other hand... if you like a bike that is different from the Japanese bike of the month that you see everywhere you go....

Enjoy that Lawman800, you only live once..
How do you find those brakes? The speed of the trickle down technology from racing R&D to the street is getting faster and faster, its good for all of us. That front set-up looks absolutely insane! I'd be shocked if a Rainey era works GP bike has more powerful brakes, problably not.
So tell us Lawman800, how do ya like them stoppers?
Enjoy,
Firebreathingdog
lawman800

Thanks!
The brakes are still being bedded in, I only got 300 miles on it. The binders come on really strong if you use more than 1/2 pressure. You hear it "CLONK" as it bites and then your bike hits the wall.
I use either my middle finger or my ring finger lightly and that's enough to modulate it in most turns. I've only had to clamp down hard twice and both times involved cagers.

I'd say so because this one, this time is ridden by me, who has no pretensions of being a Ricky Racer and I just ride my own pace to enjoy my time on the bike.
I'm too old to have anything to prove to others on their Japanese bikes. They can have all the glory due them.
