Pardon the obvious question, but why would you want an older version XR?

Actually, I've had it in mind for a while to assemble a proto-dirt track machine. While it can be done with an XR650L (http://www.4strokes.com/articles/honda/flatrack/), I admire the simpler engine of the XL500's from 1981 and earlier. Kickstart, and all.
