ok so i was at a friends house, which he doesnt really stay in(like his second house)... so i guess the neighbors call the cops and say it was a burgalary so they busted in and did the whole 9 yards.. they also asked everyone for their adress and phone # first.. so they verify that it was his house and we were allowed to be in there.. my question is what is the point of taking our #'s down even though we all over 18..

Usually we'll ask for name, DOB, address and phone number. Often 1/2 the questions are not for much else, but to see if you are telling the truth. How do you react? Does it look like you are making it up? Can it be verified? If I think you're lying, I'll ask who it home now? What is the voicemail message? Who's voice is on it?
We can also run a home number in a reverse directory to see if it comes back to that address. The info can also be used to contact you later if there are any questions or concerns... it is easier to get the data you need when you are there the first time than to try to track someone down (without the data) later on, if it is needed.
