Beautiful bike. why did they go to 3-spoke wheels, these multiple spoke wheels would look sick on the current offering of RR bikes.

I think the better question is why did they get forced out of two strokes. This little 400 hit 130 MPH on the San Mateo bridge about 1 month ago. It will leave almost any 1000cc in the dust on the twisties. Man I wish the pollititions could get there heads out of the %$'s and allow the manufactures to build new sport bike with the new clean burning two strokes.

sledhead: The pollution regulations don't specify engine configuration. Its jus they can't MAKE a two stroke economically which doesn't pollute more than the specs allow.

I beg to differ, they (Aprilia) is already working on it with an engineering firm. Because the polliticians have put such a bad cloud over two strokes funding is much harder to come by. Check out the attached link.
