This is good news. I never liked the Crown Vics. I preferred the Caprice w/ the LT-1 Corvette engine.
I can only hope we get them when I go back to a car. Note avatar.

The Caprice handled like a dawg and was good for freeway work.
I liked the Crown Vic (especially with a few minor mods :) )

One of those two named automobile mags did a comparison last month on the police cruisers. The dodge got the nod. They also compared them to the new Miata, the Lancer and didn't bother to even put the Porsche on the track. I think the comment was "all the cruisers better come with a motorola." A good driver in the Miata smoked 'em all and it only got worse for the cop cars after that.
I saw a Magnum wagon all painted and striped, but I can't remember where.

Test miles are dramatically different than police fleet miles. You have to start somewhere though, but I'd get a few million fleet miles on before leaping.

The last GOOD Dodge:

Most of the chargers will be equipted with V6's 250 hp. There will be 5.7 345hp hemi's. What would be real nice is a SRT8 version with 425 hp.

Not that I have an inside connection... but the latest word is that only one company submitted bids after the "new", new requirements came out.

Kawasaki is very proud of the Ninja 250 for the California Highway Patrol- it meets braking, acceleration, cone, u-turn, fuel mileage and all the other requirements. They only had to take exception that the rider had to be <200#'s. And the antenna ground plane had to be on a small trailer behind the bike.

Campbell PD has way too much money :rolleyes
I don't speed in Cambell. Years ago I got a ticket for tossing a smoke out of a car window (not my car, no ashtray. I don't litter)

I have to agree. I've had a plethora of Chrysler products, most v8 from 1972 through 1992 from muscle cars to 4x4's. Lost the tranny on every single one of them and electrical issues on most. As much as I want to love the Charger....
