It's a brand NEW bike. EVERYTHING is tight and hard to get off. Any suggestions on removing the lower wiring harness to install the PC III to the injectors? I've been squeezing and pulling at those things for a while and they don't seem to budge.

are you pushing the clip-lock all the way in?
sometimes you need an extra pair of hands with those things. borrow a helper. try to be the one holding the sharp tools, and not the one w/ your hands in harm's way :)

I'm squeezing the tar out of the clip. But, it just won't even move a little. It doesn't help that I can barely get my hands underneath the tank (but, i REALLY don't want to have to take the tank off).
I'll keep trying though.
As for holding the sharp tools... good tip! :)

you should consider getting over the fear of removing the tank. the time you're spending trying to open these connectors without proper leverage is going to be equal or grater than just removing the tank, getting a good grip, and then putting it back on.

:(
You may be right. This very well may HAVE to happen. Just for the record... I am NOT happy about it.

yeah man, take that tank off. Then you can route the cables properly and make sure there is no tension on anything.

Are you talking about the clips that attach directly to the injectors?
On my Ducati there a metal pin that you need to pull out before the clip can be removed. Until you pull it they will NOT budge.

The injector connectors are tough to deal with. Be extremely careful if usung any tools that might slip and place a side load on things and break stuff. That little tab has to pressed in all the way while tugging at thesame time. They are extremely stiff and the rubber o-ring inside tends to bake on things.

okay... thanks everyone. I'm heading home in a bit... I'll probably take the tank off (grrr) and work on it tonight. I'll let you know my misery or joy later this evening.

Success!!!! All it took was getting a "good" grip on the tabs and pulling really hard. I didn't have to take off the tank (yea!). But, I will say Dynojet's instructions make this task seem a LOT easier than it really was. But, now i'm PRO at this... go ahead ask me anything.... I can help! :nerd

One little trick I realized is to use rubber gloves - they grip better.

First, you pretend you are a doctor... then you insist she needs an enema... but, you fill it with tequila instead!

Does a power commander store maps? What are the opinions on the Rapid Bike system?

The maps are stored on your computer. If you want to change maps, simply download it to your bike via a USB cable. It's pretty simple.
As for the "Rapid Bike" system, I really don't know much about it other than it's manufactured outside the US and marketed to Euro.

the rapid bike system is pretty neat, it can store two maps, increase your redline (on some bikes only) has a built in ignition module, pretty trick stuff.
