What is the speed limit there? 65mph? There is no point doing a speed survey for the freeway. It is already maxed out. There are a few special cases where they up it to 70 or 75 but the speed survey tactic to get out of tickets is just for city streets.
What did you get lit up for?

For 22349a claimed he got me on radar at 86. I was in a group of cars and he was stationary at the top of the ragatta onramp.
On a week night at 5:30pm. Then he told me like three times I could go to night court, and I didn't say three words to him!!!

Interesting question. I thought (but I may not have read far enough into it) that you needed to have a survey to use radar, no speed limit mentioned.
And while I do get jury-duty notices, how come I never get a speed survey to fill out? :teeth

Surveys are not required on freeways or residental area's.

Nor are they required in a few other areas/zones; school, construction, (brain fading on the rest- but I think it's 6 or 8 total).

Normally there are no speed surveys required for freeways. The main exception to this is when the speed limit is dropped from 65 mph to a lower speed (normally 55 mph). Then a speed survey is required and the section cited is 22350 v.c.

Supposedly, on I-10 between El Paso and San Antonio, it's 80. Will check it out next week. They do have rural, two lane roads in west Texas that are 70...

Yep, I know there are places in TX with limit 80 - hell, wikipedia has a pic of a sign. A friend of mine claims they have even implemented 85 on one freeway, which a recent law allowed them to do.

In NV, they also have a special rural speeding ticket that is a flat rate $25.00/0 points for less than ten over on rural roads (I can't recall the section in the NRS).
Although I never experienced it, I quite liked the idea of Montana's old reasonable and prudent speed limit, especially with the burden of proof lying with the law enforcement agencies. Didn't last long, though.
There are still parts of Germany that have derestricted autobahns - no speed limit at all. It's not unusual to be sitting in the right-hand lane at 90mph and still have a stream of big Mercs, BMWs and Porsches come flying past you. Not surprisingly, cops in those areas often run BMW M3s or AMG Mercs as motorway patrol cars.
Northern Territories in Australia also have derestricted roads. Ford Australia and Holden (General Motor's Australian arm) often use them for high speed high temperature testing. The Pontiac GTO - which was designed an built in Australia as the Holden Monaro - was run there several times at speeds over 150mph perfectly legally on public roads. Of course, Northern Territories is kinda empty - not unusual to have 200+ miles between towns. The only thing you have to worry about are the road trains: big rigs towing five or six trailers behind them.

Two-lane highway U.S. 90 south of Van Horn was 75/65 with trucks limited to 70/65. Limits in anything that had a green sign announcing a town or even a village and it was 65 --> 55 --> 45. But, damn...that road goes straight for miles!
Found this on I-10.
