Well I just signed up for C group 26 April @sears w/PTT.
Think I'm going to try the bone stock ninjette 250, I just adjusted the valves and synced the carbs and seems to be running the best it has since I got it.
last time I was at sears someone had a 250 and I was feeling kinda jealous so I want to ride a 250 on the track, I'm hoping some other 250s will be there then so i can get some pointers.

Any other ninjettes there then?

I rode my 250 at T-Hill and I hated it. Takes some skill to ride it well on the track. Infineon might be a little better but you're going to hate it though 1-2-3 I would think. Definitely hook up with a good 250 rider and tote around. So different from other bikes.

I'll be there, hopefully the insurance of the guy who hit me and destroyed my trailer will pay up by then otherwise i will have to ramp it out off an 8 inch lifted dode ram. Fucker! Thank god my buddies XR250 was on the back and not my RR. We tied it down with climbing rope in four spots and it never moved even though the trailer was bent in half.

You'll have a blast on your 250. There isn't a better track to learn to race a 250. If you plan on more track days or racing get yourself a 1/4 turn throttle.

I think I'm going to sign up tomorrow.

I've met a few of you at the local group rides, but I'm brand new to the area, and have never been to Infineon. I've been to a few track days with the Socal VW clubs, but haven't done anything on a bike since I was a youngster. Anyone else from the East Bay going out there I can tag along with?

Oh maaaan....I hate those damn 250's: noisy, obnoxious, smelly, and they always seem to be attracted to the pit area I am at and try to start they dinosaur-bikes.
I think all 250's should be banned from track days. There is no good reason anyone should be trying to ride those abominations.

I always get suspicious of people refusing to grow up and ride modern bikes. Mark my words, in a year or two 250's will not be legal. They are just a nuisance.

PyRo1509

I'm still not quite sure what the plan is for me. Most trackdays I drive up the night before and sleep in my car outside the track.

$60 for a two day rental @ uhaul
if your up north above oakland theres a guy who rents out real nice enclosed trailers for $25 a day. If you pick up late and return it right after the day he might only charge you one day.. or 1.5 days @ the most... he is a reasonable and nice guy.

Hmm... That may be really useful man. I've been meaning to put a trailer hitch on my wagon for a while now; this might be a good excuse. I'm still without a ride too, so that might be an option.

If anyone near Oakland wants to team up, right now I'm riding out there...

What an absolutely fan-freakin-tastic day. Weather was great, not too much traffic on the track, bike ran great, good people to meet and hang out with. Other than a really sun burnt neck and my lap where I forgot to put on my gloves :wtf :wow it was pretty much a perfect day.

hahaha damn that 1200... he got me in the carrousel and then in the straight that 1200 was just .01 mph faster than I was.

I think NorcalZX7R was the one that went down in B group where the bike was in the middle of the track (after turn 2)
I think he is OK as it looked like he was able to get off the track. But please let us know how you are doing.

My accident sucked though...
I pulled into the pit got off my bike.. walked about 6 ft away and BAM... my bike is on its side... DOH!!
I just threw my hands in the air and walked away from it... what crappy luck..
Some nice guys helped me pick the bike up where I found that one of the two screws holding my kickstand on had vibrated out right at that spot... so my kickstand just folded up and the bike dropped....
Besides that accident free.

btw.. the correct answer for 2ct's was 29.5 front and 30 rear (the rear was 30 for sure, nearly no tearing. The front had some light tearing)

Thanx for checking PyRo. Yea, that was me causing the Red flag. I had to go for the extra lap on shagged tires and high sided out of 2. Glad that everyone saw the yellow flag and my bike in the middle of the track. So much for this weekends races. Some broken bits and a wrenched knee, but over all ok. It was a good weekend. No serious crashes and fantastic conditions.

I had a really shitty morning, and ran like crap all the way until after lunch. Was having my same repeated riding problems, and I pulled off the track after the second lap of the first session after lunch and got an instructor. Just following an instructor around a few times somehow uncorked a plug in my brain and I picked up so much time and speed I finally felt what Infineon is all about. Now that I've seen the light I'm hooked on Infineon, can't wait to go back! I was ashamed of myself in the first half but luckily due to some good friends with great advice and the help from a good instructor my day turned out unbelievable.

Oh, and some dude hit me trying to pass on the outside right before turn 4 :wtf but we both stayed up and he came by to apologize and turned out be a pretty alright guy, no harm no foul

Had an awesome time w/ you slide. A note to the barfers, Slide is one of the good ones.
I agree with the z1000 being a damn cool track bike. It is by far one of the best looking stock bikes there are already. It rode great when I took it out for a session when slide fell asleep (Did I or didnt I?? Only I know...)

Glad to hear that you are all good Norcal. On a more cynical note I was hoping for some pics of it because it was in front of dito. Turn two is deceptively dangerous. I got a pretty good power slide going out of it, damn off camber turns.
http://www.gotbluemilk.com/web070426/1509/images/MF1A4567.JPG

I'm trying to get to that THill on 5/2 with PTT. $160.. not a bad price. Cant miss school on mondays :( so 5/7 is a no go.

Thanks, Ratters! Pyro, so you are the one that put the sleeping pills in my drink! :teeth You were looking great out there! Norcal, glad to hear you were alright! :thumbup

The Z1000 was a real fun bike after removing the lower fairings (kept scraping), the peg feelers (also scraping), and tweaking the single fork adjuster and rear suspension (thanks to Michael Earnest!). I do need new toe sliders (or rearsets) since the pegs seem too low. PTT did a great job running the track. I may become a track addict again. :wow

Yep, Sears is just an awesome track. But you really need to follow someone who knows what they are doing to get the lines down. Glad you were able to get hooked up. Just sucks that there aren't that many opportunties to ride there during the summer. :( I absolutely love riding there.

Yody
04-28-2007, 09:31 AM
^^^
it wasn't necessarily the lines that I had a problem with but more of how I was entering the hard turns, in terms of throttle management. I just needed to follow someone to get ahold of what speed I needed to carry, without enough speed through the tight turns I wasn't using enough throttle and the bike was not planting itself.

Gonna be up at T-hill on the 7th with Allergic2Death, Kyleshere, my friend Pete, and hopefully norcalzx7r

LOL..I went over to Dito after I got dressed to seed if he got the crash but no. Missing this weekends races. Oh well. Looks like the Kawasaki day at Infineon next. I need a fairing stay since I flew up hanging on the bars and came down smashing the windscreen and breaking the stay with my chest. Definitely one of my most memorable crashes.

Who crashed on the yellow Ducati at the Chicane and was laying in the middle of the track (bike and rider)? Carmen came around me and zipped over to the incident and tried to shut the bike down. It was quite thing to see coming up on you. I hope everyone was okay, as it looked like some other riders were involved.

Awesome day though. First day for me at Infineon. Started in C and was mid B by the end of the day. What an awesome track! Man there were some fast guys in B group...

There are the vids.
Session 5 is where Norcal went down

Session 2 (about 10min) has my rear getting loose around turn 2

This is running off my laptop so it might go on and off.
Plus im low on space so I might start deleting soon...

PyRo, I tried to download it, but no video, just audio. I ran my camera for three sessions, but something was wrong with it and I got nothing. :cry I was in C until lunch and then in B the rest of the day. Trying to get some kind of footage of my session.

I got the meatball after that lap... pulled me in and said I was overdriving the car. It wasnt a race he told me...

I had a lot of fun in that little sucker. Was able to get the rear controlled loose whenever I want. That was my best slider right there
