Well some retarded guy hit me yesterday while he was backing up of a parking spot. Apparently I was invisible to him. Err... apparently my cars seem to have a sign that say: "hi I am a pinata hit me please"

He was in a Ford 250 and me in my little Golf.

Results: Busted Headlight and left fender :cry.

Repair costs: $1250.

The question is would I get pulled over? The bulb survived and still works.

I do have to wait for the insurance call back etc...That is why I am wondering if driving the golf would get me a ticket, even if fix it ticket still is a hassle...

Any info would be highly appreciated…

Thanks

It *can* get you pulled over, yes.

Will it? Not necessarily.

Well, if the bulb still works...

I dunno, you should try using it to your advantage to make the insurance company move their asses... "Well, since it's illegal for me to drive with only one properly functioning headlight, I will have to rent a car and bill you for that..."

They move shit fast when they're paying for rentals. :p

No need to wait- go get it fixed and get reimbursed.

If you do get pulled over for it, explain to the nice Officer that it just happened and that you are going to get it fixed...

Who is this "nice officer" and where does he/she work?

If the light still functions, you'll want to ensure it is aimed properly so it does not create a hazard to other drivers (and you) by having a misaligned beam blinding others. This will get you stopped quicker than no light at all.

If you cannot align the light properly, then you should disconnect it. If I were you, I'd see about getting a complementary rental car through his insurer until they get the repairs completed.

Thank you!

I think that is what I am going to do. I will pick up a rental and drop off the car for repair then just have them pay me back.

I've gotten pulled over for having the yellow marker light next to the headlight burnt out. Granted it was WSUPD and 2 am.
