BUT - it appears to be true. Here is the kicker: The guy asked for his phone chip/card back. He offered them a discount if they gave it back.

Only the guilty would do that. An innocent guy would DEMAND the chip back, yell and scream and call the cops if they don't give it back. But that didn't happen. The guilty scenerio played out instead.
