yakking

So about a month ago, I got bit with the motorcycle bug (probably influenced by some movie), signed up for MSF in Alameda, passed it two weeks later (had a blast!), got my M1 last week, and I've been lurking ever since! Well, no more -- I'm joining you fine people in the forums. I also recently discovered the "mobile" version which would totally kill my productivity at work. :laughing
I've read a LOT on first bikes and I've been looking around, but I promised myself I won't until at least next week after I move, though preferably not until after I sell my condo (good luck with that!). I can't wait to get back on a bike -- I've quickly discovered that I LOVE leaning. The first time swerving through cones at MSF, I totally ran over every cone, but the second or third time around, I found I can get to second gear, and the bike can practically "float" at this lean without falling! Awesome! I can't wait to do it for real...in a parking lot.
I know gear is really important to you guys (and me), so I'm shopping around for gear as well. I dropped by Cycle Gear a few days ago to try on some helmets and I found my head is not as small as I thought...
So anyhow, that's me, and I feel I've yakked long enough for my first post. (btw, that's not why my screen name is "yakking" -- I usually read/listen more than I yak.)
