Hello, I have an old 1979 GS 550L and I’m looking to replace the chain. I already picked up new sprockets for both the front and the rear but I’m not sure what to get for the chain. I was told by the dealer that the chain size was 530 x 110. I did some looking online and found a wide rang of prices, from $32 to $130. Does anyone have suggestions for the type of chain to get?
Thanks for your help
Andrew

You probably should have asked this question BEFORE you bought the sprockets.
The chain you need will be the same size as the sprockets you purchased, a 530 chain.

I was looking at getting one of the cheaper non-o ring chains. Like this D.I.D.

What does the 110 stand for? Is this the number of links in the chain? As for the 530 is that a diameter of 530cm?

110 is the length, get an oring chain if you want it to last through one wet day. You can find cheap o ring chains.

You can pick up a decent o-ring chain for around $80 in that size..
