Tell that to him.

Makes you thankful for everyday things that most take for granted.

It is a sad case but one thing that makes a real soldier is to finish the mission. Irregardless if you believe in the war or not.

+1 Dean

Roger that! We don't get to pick the war.

War sucks, but the alternative of not fighting now will be much, much worse.

The drive and motivation of our current troops is what will lead this country for the next 50 years.

Who knows, I'm looking at a used 05 GSX-R 750. I've been itching bad lately for a new shinny pair of wheels, lol.

Irregardless isn't a word. I think you're looking for either "regardless" or "irrespective".

Carry on.

The true measure of a man (or woman) is not what they do when everything is good, but how they deal with things when really bad things happen to them.

This guy is a 1st class person and a real model on how people should live their lives whether they have had something bad happen to them or not!

I have met many exceedingly nasty people who turned bitter when life dealt them some bad cards, but all that accomplished was to turn people away from them and made the rest pity them. This guy has far more class in his smallest finger than those people had in their whole being and I'll bet that people are very happy to call him their friend and enjoy being around him.

I'm an Iraqi vet myself and I know what my friends who were in battle with me have to deal with coming back stateside. It's sad that most people here in the US don't know what war can do to a person and to their families. Never again will I take things for granted.

I agree with that one. Most people here will never fully understand what we went through over there.

But the knuckle heads I served with are those who I will stay in contact with for the rest of my life.

There was a guest on KGO yesterday which was an Army Capt that was very recently called back for another tour. And the question came up on his thoughts on what is happening and thought of the public America. his response is what i would have expected. He said that like it or not it what they have signed up for and that the mission is still ongoing. He tossed his feelings on the public opinion but he can say that his brothers and sisters are over there and they need help and support. He then paused and said that the liberal media only focused on the harm we have done to Iraq but never the good that we have done. he said that he has seen, worked, and enjoy the fruits of their labor in Iraq. He said his whole company were proud to see a torn up neighborhood into a working community.

Sidebar: Frontline last year or so did a story on the progress in Iraq and it is very different from what is shown in the local news. Also on NOVA did a different aspect than Frontline but still with a very different results than what the local media has shown.

For someone who carries the title of "resident genius" you're disappointing.

Irregardless is a word, its redundant, but it is a word.

-less making the word a negative; thus no need for the Ir. However it's commonly used in speech and prose.
