I'm taking the MSF course in Vallejo on May 3, 5 and 6.

Anyone going to take this in the area? I'm just wondering if we have a lot of Vallejo area riders taking this course.

Oh yeah a fellow rider just took his last weekend and he said he passed it.;)

Last Sept. I took and completed the afternoon class there. One gal came all the way from Rio Vista for the class.

If you haven't scoped out the high school yet, you're better off making a right turn onto Ascot Pkwy from Redwood and then making a left onto Jesse Bethel (Mapquest (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&addtohistory=&cat=&address=jesse+bethel+%26+ascot+pkwy&city=Vallejo&state=CA&zipcode=)). (The back entrance on Redwood that leads into the school parking lot seems to get gated for the weekend.)

If you're in the afternoon class, :thumbup. Those two guys are great and want you to learn and pass. Plus an ice cream/popsicle vendor shows up around 3 p.m. Don't forget to bring snacks and water/your favorite non-alcoholic beverage.

And have FUN!

I took that course some years ago in vallejo @ jesse bethel high school. All the instructors were pretty frequent in teaching there, and they ALL RIDE THERE. There was one instructor there riding a black Valkyrie(sp.). He did the "nickel on the engine block test". I had never seen, or heard of such a thing, but nonetheless, I was impressed...

I live in Vallejo and I'm taking it this weekend. I've been riding since October, but I'm curious if there is any other useful info I can pick up there.
Also taking it due to the fact that my office sits right next to the "key hole" course in Napa DMV and if I took the riding test, every last one of my co workers would be out there watching and heckling; probably throwing projectiles as well.
No way.

i think most of the things they teach are useful... they will give basic knowledge of motorcycling

I just took and passed the course there last weekend. It was a lot of fun. Learned a bunch as well. They really build your confidence on the bike over the course. All of the ridercoaches were great as well.

One of them (Dave) was messing around during one of the breaks and when he went to park his bike, he almost dropped it in front of the whole class. We all had a good laugh and he said we almost got to see him put a $400 scratch on his BMW.
