Is one nice guy!

I ordered a Fully custom Suit from DLM, in modesto. Kent helped me out with everything.

well in just 9 days i got the suit!!

sadly there were some fitment issues with the the crotch area being to short, the measurement from my crotch to my knee was measured at 12 inches when i should have been 16 inches. and the measurement from my neck to my crotch was measured at 31 inches when it should have been 28.
somebody didnt want to get to close to my goods :laughing
So i called up Kent, and at first talked about making alterations to the suit but in the end we just placed an order for a new suit. He was extremely helpful during the whole process and never once got fustrated with my excessive calling :laughing

for those of you looking for a nice 1 or 2 piece suit, check out http://www.discount-leather.net/

im just hoping that i get my suit in time for my May 10th track day

What major brand would you compare the suit to?

Joe rocket or aplinestars.
the only thing that ive noticed, is the form of the suit... it dosent have you stuck in the fetal position when attempting to stand up right, yet it feels great when your on the bike, and since its made to your size, you dont walk around looking like you shat yourself!

I'm not sure I'd trust a guy that can't measure accurately to make me a leather suit that's going to be safe...

He was just accounting for lap dance buldges.

Joe rocket?? Mmm pass... If i pay for a custom suit it should be of better quality than that, and i don't mind paying the extra $$ for higher quality leather, stitching, and fit. Leathers are just the one most important piece of gear next to a helmet, that affect not only your safety, but your performance and comfort. IMO drop the dough on some Helimot, Z's, or Vansons, and put off buying the bling for the bike until later.

Dude, you're talkin' 400 bucks for a custom fitted suit. Even if it isn't the best suit you'll ever wear, you only paid 400 bucks for it. That said... I would definitely not mind having a 1 piece from Helimot or Vanson.

oh yah guys dont get me wrong, Helimot and vanson are top notch..but you can expect to wait 30-60 days for a Custom suit.

I dont have the luxury of time my track day is May 10th, and i dont fit anything off the rack. for me DLM was the way to go!

Did you ride out to Modesto to get measured, or did you send in the measurements?

What kind of armor does the suit come with?
Does it include knee pucks?
Do you have to get the hump on the back?
Did you get yours perforated?

The price is pretty hard to beat if it's a decent suit.

But... but.... the hump on the back is like the coolest part of the suit! :leghump

Looks a little dorky on a Supermoto, though.

Keep us updated on your suit. Joe's picture thread on DLM peaked my interest about the custom suits. The older I get the more pounds I put on. I'm not an off the rack suit guy anymore. If Modesto wasn't such a drive I'd have been there already to get fitted for a suit. I'm getting too fat for my Z leathers.

I live near there and have been in to look at some of the stuff.
When I saw these pants I left.

A little too wierd for me.

The place has a lot of stuff however.

Comes wtih CE approved full sholder, Knee, and elbow armor, and these thick kinda hard pads on the outter thighs
also comes with a light weight flimsly back protector, but i would recommend a dainese or astars replacement.

they come peforated and include the hump.
im sure you could get one without it though.

does not come with pucks
=(

Yes, I did...cause i was unsure about how to get measured...but after i got measured i realized that any tuxedo place can do it, you just want the measuements to be dead on if you desire a tight fitting suit.

If you decide to order online, trust me...ask for no lettering on the suit, it says HIMALAYA on both legs and on the hump, and ask for no collar.

getting a suit without the lettering or collar will no affect the price.

I received my DLM custom suit in two weeks, a week before schedule. I had them delete the back hump. Fully perforated upper, and some perfs on the thighs. No pucks, but I was going to buy some A&G's anyway.

Fits perfect except for the sleeves, which I F'ed up on my own measurements, so it's getting altered. Pics when I get it back.

Just wanted to update some info about DLM. Stopped by there since i was visiting fams in Stockton. Kent no longer does measurements. He told me you should get your measurements done yourself - best bet would be either a tux shop or any place that does alterations, like a dry cleaning spot. DLM site has forms for the measurements you need.

As mentioned, Kent sends your specs to an offshore manufacturer. He also told me you can customize the color of the suit as well, other than what's shown on his site. Just let him know which panels and what colors.

He has a handful of standard off-the-shelf sizes there, and I have to say that I'd agree with Toe that the suits are on par with A* and JR suits, but for $100s less - and customized to your specs! Manufacturer is Himalaya Motorbike. I found the US distributor site, where you can also check out the suit: http://susannainternational.com/Pages/Secure/0210.htm

Kent was a really nice guy and I'm getting ready to send in my measurements to get a perfd 1-pc suit through him.
