If I ever find anyone doing anything, even remotely similar or even looking crosseyed at some racers stuff, they will be questioned, face a jury, and sentenced. What that sentence will be... well, do we have suggestions....

so it reappeared before he left the track? or at the next track (implying that it was part of the touring company, not a fan)?

If this becomes a trend, it will be a lose-lose situation. Fans enjoy an unparalleled amount of access to what would otherwise be called "behind the scenes" action, including the pits. It's barely different than a trackday, where you can get as close as you want, and ask any question of anyone. It will be a sad day when they lock the fans out (to prevent stuff like this from happenning). Fan interest will not increase if the distance between them and the riders increases. Heaven forbid that this kind of crime carries over to amateur trackdays; nobody should give up track time because they feel they need to watch their (group's) shit.

A big race weekend brings out the bottom feeders. I'm not worried about our racers, or even trackdays, but I'd be a little more careful if I had a pit set up on an AMA weekend.
It's just the law of averages. If you put 10,000 people in one place there's a small percentage that are not going to be upstanding types, and it's a greater possibility of someone doing something stupid.
This is some fan thinking they're getting away with something cool.
Now if this was another racer that would be on a whole other level of crime. Like Treason!
Was it Willow Springs where a racer was parting out stolen race bikes?
There aren't prisons bad enough for that guy.

Fontucky is famous for having shit stolen, trackdays and races. It's in an absolute shithole of a town. I never worry about my race support stuff at any AMA race except Fontana.

Amazing how many times my stuff has magically reappeared, because I didn't want to admit to losing it :twofinger
