I was just wondering what everyone else's thoughts were on this subject... I think with in the next couple of years mgp will be 250 4strokes in the 125 class and a 440 or 450 in the 250 class, what do u guys think ???? Will they end up doing something like the 500's and the 990's mixed together or just make 4 strokes the only motor in mgp ??

We have already seen this happen in motocross, so is it going to happen in road racing ?? I also "heard" that honda and yamaha dont want to make 2 strokes anymore and want mgp to switch to 4 strokes in the support classes. Anyone else hear that ?? Anyways what do all u guys think ........

I think we will probably gravitate to a 250cc 4s single for MGP3, and probably 500cc twins in MGP2.

That should help keep costs under control letting the manufacturers use motors (for MGP3) and top ends for (for MGP2) and keep the motor development costs "within reason". That will still leave Moto GP as the place for the exotic multis while making the development classes somewhat more relevant to both the premeir class and the future of street bikes.

While we're at it, probably would ban pneumatic valve train and maybe a couple of other more exotic technologies to keep costs under control including a reasonably high minimum weight.

I think this would produce some very exciting bikes, that could be produced by every manufacturer making a 250cc dirt bike, which is almost everybody these days with hopefully some sexy racer reps hitting the streeets eventually.

Also, this would neatly sidestep direct competition with WSBK/and other 4-stroke national championships.

the two-stroke 125 and 250 classes are signed through the 2014 season.
