Missed the last race, so this was my first 650 twin event since leaving 500 twin. Had fun ... plenty of folks to race against.

But sorry to see two riders crash today. Top of T2, rider 1's rear tire steps out, bike swaps ends and highsides him into the path of rider 2 ... he had no where to go. I barely missed one of them.

Anyone know how they are?
Hope both of you are going to be ok.

Here's a video of that incident. I snuck through the middle and stayed upright. I think the three other riders got up immediately, based on other video. Hope everyone was ok.

Oh man, that's the suck. Glad everybody came out ok. Lots of times these T2 incidents end up with somebody getting hit. Nice work by both Bryan and the bike right behind the highsider (I think 353). As much as it sucks to go down evasive, you managed to make it count and avoid the other rider.

I seen this and another clip and am wondering if there were two crashes at T2 during 650 Twins?

The one I recall black flagged the race for about 10 minutes. I see a third rider involved in this incident.
That's not what I saw during the accident I avoided.

Nice camera work ...

This crash was after the restart and they did not black flag it. Everyone was ok and they got the bikes behind the wall pretty quickly so there was no need to stop the race.

You are correct, Boris - I was in the first crash - #280 (blue SV). And I was on the ground for a few minutes, which is probably why they blackflagged. My crash was pretty much the same as the one in that video - I found a bike/rider on the ground right on my line. I think I hit the bike, but I either didn't have time to see it, or I can't remember - either way, I ended up going down pretty hard, although it may not have looked like it.

If you know of any pix, or video, I'd love to see them.

But yes, there were definitely two of those yesterday in that race. Not fun. (and that was my first ever weekend out at Infineon).

That sucks man, I'm glad you are ok though. They had us stopped in turn 7 for a long time so I thought someone got hurt pretty bad.

WOW!!! that is some cool video. Fantastic job by Bryan #691 avoiding the guy on the ground then hitting the eject button. The guy on the green and red SV did a stoppie that any pro stunter would be proud of. Great job by all, really glad everyone came out OK.

I was in the first one. which probably looked a lot like the second. I highsided, tumbled and I guess got ran over (my shoulder). very sore. broke my fibula.
Layed on the track for a while cause I got the wind so knocked out of me.. shouldn't have been such a poosy then they wouldn't have blackfagged it.
sorry if I made you crash. glad to hear everyone is ok.

I shot that video... sorry it got cut at the end so quickly. Everyone of course walked away from this crash. I have some video of the aftermath from the first crash where there were three ambulances sitting on the track. :( I don't know the extent of the riders' injuries and even though transport was involved I think both were able to move around on their own before being taken away. Does anyone know how badly they were hurt in the first crash?

I believe it was 600P that caused the delay at the beginning of the day and forced the change in schedule so everyone had shorter races. Not to mention the crashes in T9 as a result of the oil that was leaked by the 600P racer.

650T has a long way to go before it matches the 600 madness on a consistent basis.

FIV is up there, too. I can think of 6 of us who didn't finish that race.

Did any one else notice what was going on right b4 that pile up at T2? The turn marshals on the outside of T2 were trying to signal the corner worker in the booth on the inside of T2. A child was running up the hill towards the portapotty that is near that booth and the corner worker didn't know. Alot of people were focused on that including me, I only caught the end of that crash.

I hope it doesn't become a consistent thing for the SV riders. I'm 2 for 2 - being run off the track each race weekend. FIV at BW, and 650 at Infineon. At least this time I kept it upright and finished.

No, I think it was the clubman madness that rolled over from Saturday to Sunday morning. We ran a set of practice, 2 separate clubman races, and a 2 riders meetings before race 1 on Sunday. Not bad if you ask me.

I don't recall the races getting shortened.

Gotcha. After the 600P race grid control held up a sign informing those in race #2 that it would be 7 laps instead of the regular 8. Other than FP I don't think any race went it's normal distance.

Yup, all shortened to 7 laps. and our 650T got pushed down to 6 for the re-start.

Glad to hear you're ok. I was directly behind you.
I saw you hit the bike ... but I believe you hit the rider first (at least that's what I thought I saw). With you breaking, the bike slide into your path and took your bike out from under you.

Dude! I'm glad you're alive ...

From behind the second rider, it looked like his front wheel hit your head. ':wow' Maybe it was your shoulder, but your head snapped around after his tire went by that it looked like bad news. I knew the race would be blackflagged.

Again, good to hear from you both. ':teeth'

... if anyone saw different, please say so. It happens so quick that your mind only has time to take a quick mental snap shot.

I think I was the reason they black-flagged the start. I was knocked out for what I'm guessing to be 2 minutes. As far as crashes go it may not have looked like much more than a lowside, but hitting the professor at nearly full lean flicked the bottom of my bike up. And the top of my bike down - so I hit, probably head first, quite hard. I've highsided, been spit off over the bars from a tankslapper, and low sided doing around 80 mph (that was by far the most fun). Never hit as hard as I did this time - I was completely out until I noticed someone trying to remove my sunglasses from under my helmet (they're Rx - can't see very clearly without them).

Sorry to learn I ran over you, Professor. I really thought I hit your bike, and that was what put me on the deck. However I'm somewhat relieved to hear that I didn't do too much damage. Hope you recover quickly - see you at one of the next ones.

Here's some video of the first race. I was in the wrong locations and happened to wander back up to T2 just as the second ambulance was rolling up.
