Oil spot on Pinehurst

Last Thursday i went out on a lunch time ride with some guys from work. It was a good day for one. We started on Fish Ranch right off the 24. We eventually made it to Pinehurst and were gonna take it to Redwood rd. About 1 mile from redwood i hit a giant oil spot on a turn and did a low slid. I just got a little rash damage on the mid and lower fairings and frame slider on the left side. Out of the 4 of us i was the only one to slide on that spot. I had 9500 miles on my 05 600rr without ever laying her down so i was kinda pissed. And to top it off we stoped and talked to a guy at the intersection of pinhurst and redwood who said that there are bicyclists who pour oil on the road for the motorcyclists. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I would really like to know who if any is responsible for this.

If I see somebody pouring oil on the road "for motorcyclists" I will very likely get charged with an assault, and rightly so.

I was just thinking this the other day before I read this post. I ride pinehurst often and that oil patch always seems fresh lately.

how far up pinehurst from redwood rd do you have to ride to get to this spot??? so I know where to look extra hard before a lay my bike down. And if this is the case im about to post up in the woods with a damn video camera to catch these A-holes

If you go up there on night times, which I have, you will see kids over there drifting their cars and throwing oil at the S turn. I've seen it, and they drift there for hours with the oil that they lay down on the ground and it is NOT bicyclists

Oil on the road sucks, but I feel better knowing it is stupid kids drifting, then someone deliberately trying to hurt motorcyclists.

also, maybe you should check out the road reports thread. i remember seeing something about oil spots on redwood red/pinehurst a week or so ago.

i used to drift up there a few years ago. those idiots are the reason i stopped going. i have a lead on who throws the oil down if anyone's interested
