I've had it done before. But this last time I jsut got some industrial Black paint from the paint shop and used a Pre-Val can to spray them
they've held up well for two race weekends of tire changes.
if it's for a race bike, that's a lot cheaper route.

I'm sorry, I guess I should have included more with my question. I was wondering, will it jepordize the integrity of the wheel? Also another thought, does it affect the weight enough to matter?

I've powdercoated all 4 rims I have for my racebike (1 spare set) and haven't had any issues with them. They still balance with little or no weight. They have been on the bike for a few years now and when I clean them they look brand new.

your only consideration will be to replace the bearings. when you have it done.
As afm837 said, it will work out great. it adds a little weight but that's negliable.

Just beware that the powdercoater knows what he's doing.
I wouldn't recommend powdercoating mag rims -- my understanding is that it could compromise rim integrity.
From what I remember, the method of stripping previous coatings can vary from chemical dip (best route), blasting (can be okay), to baking off (bad idea).
Talk to Warren at Accurate Powdercoating in San Carlos. I've used him for powdercoating a number of bits on my street bike and a few bits on my racebike when I could put them in a batch with other stuff. Nice guy and very knowledgeable. His number is 650-802-8180

I used Altizer in Mound House for the wheels on my car, and I was amazed by their work. Fast, cheap, flawless.
