Hi,

After this weekend I have convinced myself that I should pick up a generator. I was wondering which model you all tend to use.

I'm looking for something that's not going to break the wallet, good quality, not huge, and doesn't require the use of ear plugs when it's running.

Thanks for the info!

Honda EU2000. It's reliable, under $1000, can be carried with one hand, and super quiet.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. My buddy has the more expensive one that is great but I don't need the high model.

I have the Yamaha EF1000iS (my rear tire is only a 160) to run a larger warmer you'd need the 2400is which I think is about $1100.
The thing I like best about my geni is that it's blue.

the Yamaha EF-i line is great. quiet.

I'd worry that the Craftsman and Coleman are going to be loud. You pay for quiet.. but you pay for noisy in different way.

I have the Yam. EF2400i and it will do 4 warmers and the basics in my hauler. but as soon as the wife dries her hair the warmers have to come off .

Where do they sell them for at that price. So far the cheapest I found this model for is $869 shipped (no tax).

$895 is the price I pass along to people who need one, but they are on sale right now for $899 at www.hondapeninsula.com in Sunnyvale so you could just pick it up there.

For the love of God, whatever you get make sure it's quiet..... Few things are more annoying then a loud generator, especially if you bought a quiet generator only to be blasted by your neighbors loud generator that he's running an extension cord to because it's too noisey to be near his pits.....

The EU2000 rocks and it's really quiet.

EU2000. Hook two of them together if you need the extra juice. Quiet and tote-able. One of the best things I've ever bought.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I'm going to go with the Honda unit. Now I just need to save up the food stamps! ;)
