I believe round 2 is free if you fail, unless you manage to either wad up their bikes or act like a complete idiot during the course. That's the last thing I would worry about though, just go out and have fun.

You'll pass dude, don't worry. Just keep your cool, despite the excitement, and you'll be able to deal with it easily.
I remember when I did mine, and for some fucking reason I couldn't get the Figure-8-in-the-box done in every try (I wasn't turning as well to my right than to my left), that I was so worried that's what was gonna oust me. Turns out that despite that, I still passed.

Don't worry about not stopping in the alotted time. I didn't do the figure 8 tiight turn in the box once corrected including the test. I got the dink on the emergancy too, and for some brian fart manever or slowing down in the curve, and still paeed.
Heck, the teacher said not worry about the figure 8 since it was only a knock of 5 points. Heck, I think I had an 85 on my evaluation, and I did plenty of mistakes. I think if you actually fall, you loosed like 35 points and fail right there.

I don't think you can do it for free, again. Thats to bad that you finished it already. When I did mine, I told them I didn't feel confident and asked to redo it. And I did.

Congrats! I remember the MSF course and how much fun I had. Just be careful, in a few months you will feel super confident on a motorcycle, and thats the most dangerious time IMO.
Keep the rubber side down!

coo, now hope on a ninja 250. i know it looks gay but coming from a newbie its better because its smaller and easier to handle.
people say dont start on a 600.. to me it dont matter how many CC, but the CC determines if the bike is heavy, etc.
I think if I had a ninja250 i wouldnt have drop my bike as much
but then im already yearning for more power.
also im short so I have to tippy toe but if you tall enough get a 600 is fine

Congratulations!
My fondest memory of my MSF experience is how much more comfortable operating the bike felt on the second day. Getting to be one with the machine :cool

Save some of that money for gear too! Don't forget to get the proper gear :thumbup
Ride safe,
David.

Don't forget that you can go back to the course and ride it whenever you want to. (at least in vallejo you can) You won't have the cones setup, but you can just use the paint on the ground. It's all you need. Congrats on the pass fellow recent MSF graduate!

Congrats. When you get your bike find a big parking lot and practice your emegency stops and swerving. Save money in your budget for good gear.

There's an expansive parking lot behind Meridien Court in UC that hardly has any cars in it, especially after work hours, that you can practice in. The parts of the lot that are "behind" the area are especially isolated. That's where I spent a good couple of hours getting comfy after my MSF.
PM me if you go, I'd like to watch some squidly displays. :teeth

Call them and ask about what they are doing for your loan. In mortgage, we have conditions that take a coupe days to meet and turn around. But wiht a bike, it should be a simple credit-card type approval and you can take your bike that day in most cases. That is weird.

For the parking lot? No. It's like a business center of some sort, some tech companies (I think) I've never heard of. It's open space, no gates or anything. I've also been using that area recently to teach a cousin how to drive a car.
I wasn't talking about INSIDE Meridien Court, if that's what you thought. :teeth

Congrats on your MSF :thumbup
I remember half my class failed the test and had to show up the following week to re-try. Too bad for them. Figure 8's are always a pain when learning. I believe the technique was to move your arse/weight to the outside of the turn, but that didn't work out to well for me. Instead I found I could stay within the box when I weighted the inside foot peg. I suppose leaning the bike into the tight circle wouldn't make new students feel to good though. :dunno
Meridien Court you say? I see a residential area with Meridien Circle, next to Union Landing when I look at the map. Is there a cross street?

You mean the permit test? 'cause you can get your license with the DL389 you know. No riding test needed.

Aren't you over 18? I don't see why you can't apply for credit yourself if you want to finance a bike.
What kind of bike are you trying to get? Does it have to be new? If you don't mind used, that's really the more sensible route, and if you don't already have the savings, it wouldn't take that long for you to save up on some of the used bikes going on sale right now, depending on the kind of bike you want of course.

Better suggestion - forget the CBR. Save about 1500-2000 until you have the cash in hand and then go out and purchase a used Ninja 250. Learn to ride the right way and then sell the ninja 6 months to a year later for exactly what you paid for it. Save up the cash for another bike in the meantime.
