I wonder why anyone would post something that is strictly AFM related in the racers corner?

I wonder how the imagine of the AFM is percieved by the general public, the ones that have never raced but can read about the percieved BS.

I wonder about the motives of those that use this forum instead of the Official AFM forum.

I wonder why I am even posting this. Well, I really do......cause because of a few, the AFM can look like a joke, when in fact its not.

I say if you got a problem with the AFM .......go to the AFM site and whine about it there.

Maybe it's just me, but the AFM Forum website seems to be viewable by the public, just like Barf. Wot's the difference?

:confused

Think of it like airing your family's dirty laundry - not something you want to do in a public forum.

True, AFM is open to anyone. But in general the folks who hang out there are AFM racers, or interested in getting into racing. At that point their image of AFM will be formed by reading all the other AFM posts, in addition to the rants and ragging.

Here, I agree with rearwheel - if you've got a rant against AFM, might be better to keep it over in the AFM forum.

AFM really is a cool organization, IMO. And yes, there are some folks do have some (quite possibly legitimate) issues with them - show me one organization with several hundred members where everyone sits around with a smile on their face singing kumbaya 24/7 (and I'll show you the koolaid).

Funny thing is... a small percentage do go over to the AFM site and re-post the exact same stuff. I think there is a larger audience here and drama always needs a stage.
EDIT: I don't think I mean "funny" it's actually contructive to put it over there.

I think there are enough positive feedback in the threads that anyone new reading them will realize quickly that this is a small percentage of the club. Every thread I read has soemthing to teh effect of " this is the best club to be a part of"...

All that being said, there is more drama on here than any other forum board I am a part of. Not sure how long I'll stay lurking aroun on BARF.

I completely agree. We should rename this the AFM Corner. Great idea! I mean, now it's called Racers Corner, but other than AFM Racers, who posts here? The Supermoto racers? Nah, they have their own forum and post everything there. Same with the mini-motos. So who other than AFM Racers should post here? And if it's the AFM Racers that post here, it only makes sense we would talk about our club. So, yes, I second your motion to rename it the AFM Corner! :applause

I kinda of see it differently. Other than that incredible 16 act opera with Gary and the suspension, I think the posts from many active members shows a good side to the club, especially when the board members post.

Most clubs, racing or otherwise are not so democratic and open. It's a positive to have people talking in the open. Maybe some AMA racers should pop in with opinions about belonging to that organization.

There is a lot of ribbing and people seem to take it and keep on posting. That's a good sign in any organization. I have found some thoughtful consideration of an issue from many different members. I jump into a thread and no one tells me to butt-out. Those are positives, too.

AFM is going to dominate this forum because of the club's demographics.... so what?

Anyway, I am joining-up. So that's probably not a good sign for the club. But hey - :twofinger
