Anybody interested in joining me in some flatland/street skating on the weekends?

My current skill level is ollies, 180 ollies, shove-its, kickflips and just hanging out and having fun.

Planning on working up to ollie'ing and kf'ing off stuff soon.

Current skate spot is a schoolyard off of the Grand Ave. exit in Oakland--willing to travel.

Sounds good bro. I'm on 180 ollies too. Having trouble landing the kickflip though. Always seem to land on the tail. Haven't really skated since jr. high so need to get out there. Probably can't next couple of weekends but hit me up if you can go during the week this week or after the 21st. Are the parks in piedmont and alameda still up?

I've got a nice spare board for anybody who wants to borrow it.

You guys interested in getting together this Sunday (5/13)?

The Alameda park is still open--I hear it's pretty empty since the Berkeley one opened.

There is some good street skating to be had on the base around the park.

That's awesome.

Ollies were the bane of my skate career. Never could get them down. :(

Have fun. Post some vids!

I'm gonna be in LA this weekend : / - but I'm down for any time next week.

I got my deck, trucks, wheels, bearings (come together but not put together) for like 50 bucks after shipping on ebay.

All "actual" brands too.-- anyway youcan get like a blank deck for like 10-20 bucks

I'm still proud of what me and a few buddies did here in martinez about 10 years ago. We kept bugging the city council about getting a skatepark built, and finally they gave in and put us on a committee with developers to get something together (unfortunately we weren't on the design team, or it would be VERY different).

Still nice every time I ride down to the marina, look over and see the kids skating there, thinking "you owe me, you little rat fuckers!"

What a crock, listing Mainland as a local shop but not Metro, which is closer..

How's about 1pm. Where do you want to meet up? Want to go to the Alameda park?

Damn, bunch of guys who haven't skated in 10+ years :laughing

I never could skate, pissed me off. I had to be the guy on the bike. Of course since I bought a cheap flat land bike I have come to the conclusion that I suck at riding more then I did then too :laughing
