Have this up on ebay, but I thought I'd let the barfers in on it too. I'm looking to get $25 for this new, in package, arai racing breath deflector. It's the cloth type made by arai for their races guys, and apparently it's pretty hard to find, and a little over priced at dealers. They typically go between high 20's and high 30's on ebay, so I think 25 is fair. If you are interested, let me know quick, or go and use the buy it now feature on the item (look under arai breath deflector). After people start bidding I'm not sure if I'll stop the auction, and after the first bid the buy it now feature disappears, so go at it.
Oh, and if anyone has any questions about these things, let me know.
thanks

also, because I feel I am an upstanding guy, you can get these pieces through arai, and specifically through Kathy with arai warranty (kathy kicks ass) at 610 837 4210. And, they're real real realy cheap. But, if you want one in less than four days, you can buy mine and help out a broke college student (at least help pay for the one I already use).

Hate to break it to you, but anyone can pick these up at CG for $16.99-19.99.

Or at Scuderia, or anywhere else that has Arai accessories.

Sorry. :shhh

For the record, I had one and I hated it. It made the wind blow up under the deflector onto my eyeballs. I like the stock short one better.

Good luck with the bills. I know how much it sucks to be starving in college.

thanks for all the help guys, but I've actually never seen this thing at my local cycle gear, and I've never seen one at scuderia. I wanna be as nice as possible, but I don't particularly like the "hate to break it to you," because they usually aren't too informed. You can get these from arai for 13, shipped, and I gave the number so anyone could do that. Also, with four and a half days left on a 5 day auction, the piece has already been bid up to 21 dollars, so 'hate to break it to you,' but being a college student sucks when you've just lost a job, or are broke, agreed getagripgreg, but covering your bills is great when you can, and knowing how much things are worth to other people is great when you're poor.
thanks for the help though, and no hard feelings. I just thought that if people were willing to go so high on ebay, that someone locally might want one.

oh, and the thing seem to work pretty well for the vision impared. I have glasses, and no matter what I've tried short of rubbing some solution on them every week, I can't keep them fog free without breathing down. Although you do seem to get a little extra wind in the eyes. Welcome trade off for me though.

I really hope this is a post for me and not for everyone else. In case anyone else reads this post, and thinks they're doing a great service to barf, I DO REALIZE 25 IS NOT A GOOD PRICE FOR THOSE OF US WHO KNOW WHERE TO GET THESE, AND IN FACT RECOMMNED YOU GO ELSE WHERE TO BUY THIS. And unless you are willing to pay the money on ebay, don't worry about it. If I wanted a barfer to get this I wouldn't have charged that much, and it wouldn't have gone up on ebay.

:wtf why would you post it on the forum in the first place then? Starving or not, I hate it when people try to rip off others on the forum, and YES I DO CONSIDER THIS A RIP OFF! I saw 2 or 3 at the local cycle gear just this past weekend, so they're not really hard to find.

Bottom line, I think riders are a tight knit group and usually look out for each other. Many forum brothers have looked out for me in the past and so I'll pass on the good will... this is not a good buy.

thats awesome, but you should really realize that people are willing to buy these, and having never seen any around here, EVER, cycle gear, concord motorsports, concord kawasaki, parkside bmw, and having them go for 30 on average on ebay, I thought someone locally might have had a hard time finding them, and would be interested.
If you've got a problem with this, thats fine, but I don't really wanna hear it. Not only was this a no reserve auction, so you could have got it for any price, but also, I posted two seperate theards about where to get them for cheap.
Go hassle the people who have leathers up for $1000 and alpinestars gp gloves up for 125. The things already been bid up to high 20's

Seriously, if this group is a tight fit, then try and take into consideration that some individuals take every precaustion to not to rip others off. And you can ask donoman, rick, and others that anytime some one has emailed me about this thing I've let them know where they could get it for half my price.
Oh, and another thing, since this diatribe is going on a little longer than what I thought, it's exaclty because of people like the ones who post comments such as, "YES I DO CONSIDER THIS A RIP OFF," and take others out of context, or speak without knowledge, that society has become such a mish mash of antisocialists, and people who are unable to ethically participate with others. Since I'm obviously a rip off artist though, I've got a sweet ex500 race bike for $6000 if anyone is looking, and thanks for curtailing my horrible habits, and sending me on the road to recovery with your brilliant treatises on ethics and the modern Kant movment.

Just to kick a dead horse, I bought one at Scuderia West on Friday for $11.95. And apparently deflectors aren't brand-specific, so you could use a Shoei on an Arai.

thanks to this wild thread, I have found what I've been looking for - a solution to my fogged face shield and fogged glasses... I'll make my own post...

... to see if someone already knows which m/c accessories place I should head to for one of these...
