Once again we will be meeting at Ziet between 7 and 8pm to set off on our weekly bicycle ride. This weeks ride will be slightly longer than normal but relatively tame. The hill going up to Market from Ziet should be the steepest one but there will be gradual ascents throughout. I've signed up with this mapping site so the routes will be slightly more definitive now. You can see ahead of time exactly what you are getting yourself into as the map even shows elevation changes. For instance on this weeks map the big elevation spike right at the start is the hill from Ziet to Market. Thats the worst of what you will be facing this week and I know most of you have already conquered that hill numerous times. So buck up, get your shit together and meet us this Thursday...

Where: Ziet

When: 5/17 Thurs, between 7 and 8 pm (try to show as early as possible people)

Who: You stupid and anyone you wish to bring

Why?: Why not.

See map here...

Nice BMW.
Oh yeah and that one does not qualify as a "single-speed no-brand components" any more. ;) Like you said in a post 3 weeks ago.

Awesome map and a pretty nice route, btw.

Y-Emma : Tri-Flow is one example of "bicycle oil" they have it in bike shops or REI

(me?: sorry cannot do tonight :( perhaps next week, soon)

I may try to catch up to you guys, but I'll probably be running late since I have to grab my bike first. Can someone PM me a contact number, just to make sure I don't cruise on past?

+1 on the Tri Flow

I use chain lube on my bicycle is that okay, or overkill?

Factor5

PS. If your chain is nice and shiny, oil it! A dirty, black, lubed-up chain means you're good to go.

a dirty, black, oily chain means you aren't cleaning the dirt off before oiling it thus letting the grit do maximim damage.

shiny and oily = good to go

i had tri-flo last night, but again didn't remember sufficiently to bust it out. emma is too fast anyway, imma put sand on your chain :teeth

haha. don't worry. i got slowed down by the end of the ride... by some ASS running a red light.

the bowls of booze prolly didn't do much to help my balance, so my violent swerve to avoid him left me chewing on the tarmac. :cry

Actually funny that you mention it. Last week there was this whiny little kid who showed up on his bling bling carbon fiber bike with his fancy clickety clack riding shoes who couldn't lock his precious bike up and didn't want to ride any hills and didn't like the route I planned or the bars I picked and...

I think I stole it from him:twofinger
