I'm looking for a leather jacket with armor, preferably in pink. I'd like ventilation, but it doesn't have to be a lot.

I was looking at Icon Ladies Pursuit Perforated Leather jacket on kneedraggers.com but it looks like it might have too much ventilation considering I'd like a jacket that would be okay for year-round. Also, I'm not actually sure that it has armor at all because it doesn't mention it other than "maximum protection." What exactly is that supposed to mean?

On the other hand, Joe Rocket has the Jet Set Sport jacket which has ventilation and protection in shoulders, elbows, and forearms along with a spine pad.

I know these probably aren't exactly the only two jackets out there that fit my requirements. What can you suggest?

Also, I'm looking for leather gloves to match the jacket I choose, which makes finding a set harder. I really like the look of the Icon Pursuit leather gloves for ladies (non-perf) because they seem very flexible and fit well. It seems like dexterity and grip are somewhat lost with bigger gloves...and the review on kneedraggers.com makes it sound like these are the gloves I'm looking for. Also, I have small hands.

Lastly, are there any east bay or bay area stores that carry a wide selection of girls gear? I've been in only one store so far and it had only three leather jackets and only a few gloves - none of which were my size or had good knuckle protection. Mostly I've looked online and kneedraggers.com seemed to have the best selection from what I've found...but are there other sites that you'd recommend?

I'd like to get my gear before Moto GP this coming weekend...which means if I purchase online I need to do it now. Please help! Thank you :)

Hello!

If you're looking for leather preferably pink, try the Joe Rocket Trixie, which comes in a pink version. Cycle Gear carries some JR in their stores, but I'm not sure if they carry the Trixie. You could probably order it from them and they might not charge you for it you don't decide to keep it. I'd call and doublecheck.

Joe Rocket also makes these Phoenix Gloves:

For Icon, you probably are thinking of the Kitty Leather Jacket which also comes in a white/pink. It may have a light foam pad that might be removable for a Tpro or other armor. Cycle gear(cyclegear.com) usually has this one in stock in the different colors. They have stores all over the bay area.

New Enough has them for $280.

If you're looking for other stores in the Bay Area to shop, I've created a list on my website:

Something else to keep in mind is that you really need to find the gear that fits you the best. Although the Trixie may be cute, it might not fit your body type. Same goes for the Icon Kitty. I would highly advise that you go out to all the stores, try on EVERYTHING that might fit you and go with what fits you best. Some brands fit better than others, depending how tall/short/wide/skinny/round/pearshaped/ etc. you are. Being comfortable in whatever gear you choose, along with fitting you properly is key. I would also recommend visiting Scuderia in San Francisco, as they're really great with helping fit women's gear.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info! I rode out to roadriders today, but I found that they had more textiles than leathers and nothing that I was really looking for. I ended up going with a Joe Rocket Jet Set leather in pink with matching gloves. I'm looking forward to breaking them in. I appreciated the info!

Helimot (http://www.helimot.com) can make a custom fit jacket for you in whatever color strikes your fancy. They have even created a "daisy" jacket for just that purpose.
