i know most of the bikes that go up on here are more performance oriented 'cause most barfers ain't noobs.

but if anyone has a Suzuki GS500 Kawasaki Ninja 500 or (at last resort) Ninja 250 sitting around send it to a good home where it will get ridden! :teeth

it has 4k miles
no scratches, never been down
perfectly maintained

I wouldnt consider a ninja 250 as a last resort. Great bikes, wind them up and watch'em go. I miss mine

I can't afford a shiny new 2007 :(

i want a bike that is in riding condition or very very close to it.

No way i want a $4000 bike for a first ride. I'd cry when i binned it.
besides if i was going to spend that much i'd get a 01/02 sv650.

GS500Es are my favorite first bike for a new rider - they handle great, are light weight and inexpensive. NT650 Hawks are also excellent first bikes but usually cost a bit more. I just posted a hawk for sale here on BARF for only $1400 needing just minor details. If you need it be be ready to ride, it would be a few hundred more. PM me if you're interested. Good luck with your search!

sorry joe. although the Hawk is really cool the insurance i got quoted was $140 for mininum. for the Gs500 it's only $70/mo

I'm a student living on fuck-all wages and if i had an extra $70 a month i could afford my own internet instead of stealing a neighbors'. as well as not eating frozen burritos so much ;)

Ouch! $140/month! I pay less than that for a year of insurance! Is that for full coverage? Damn if they wanted that much from me I might resort to a bicycle! For that $70 a month difference I'd stick to a GS500E as well. Good luck!
