Cycle news just reported that the Director of Supermoto, Joel Grover, resigned. He said that "...considering the circumstances, I feel that it's in my best interest...."

Not sure what those "circumstances" are, but it seems to me that the AMA is well on it's way to killing Supermoto with the way it's been going. There has been very little press, I mean, I can't even tell you who or what is going on in that series. I would guess that Ward is winning, but ...

It just kinda shows you that if people like me have lost contact with what is going on with AMA Supermoto, then how are they growing the sport?

That's a bummer, you sure it was not just some personal issue for his leaving? I don't have CN but SMR seems to say things are going strong but could always be better. They do need more spectator support. I went to Long Beach last year and it was awesome. There was a ton of everything and it was a huge success as far as I have seen and heard. We have reservations already for this year and can't wait. We went to Stateline too and the grass roots showning was way better than expected and there are new SM related businesses and products popping up all the time so I think it's fine -it's just going to take a while to catch on to the general public.
It is such a blast to watch those guys it always blows me away. I remember watching Kurt Nicol pass on the inside of a hairpin...with the back wheel off the ground going in!

Keep positive and support/promote the sport whenever you can... my .02

Pat is it the AMA or the Promoters:confused

Matt does a good job of providing fun entry level racing. I think what we need are more Promoters like him, just my :2cents

The AMA sucks and couldn't figure out how to run a racing program if their lives depended on it. Look at all the shake ups in Road Racing. It's sad that the sanctioning body we have in the US is completely out of touch with the riding community. And these clowns are supposed to represent us. Did you know that Honda's Rider Club (HRC) has more members than the AMA?
