No, I don't have an issue at for what he was doing. Looked to be a fairly inept group of people fighting and his over dramatized description leads me to believe he is not a physical sort of guy.

I think he is a wimp for getting knocked to the ground by another clumsy guy.

The reporter was exposing a white collar thief. He doesn't need to know how to box or wrestle. He wasn't the most masculine of people but that really isn't the point. A thief didn't like the exposure and snapped.
The only thing I would suggest to the reporter is to have a better bodyguard.
