i was wanting to ride skaggs and the coast, i figure we meet relatively early at like 8:45 somewhere in the east bay and take 101 up to skaggs ridge road and hit that a few times and then come home down the coast....i think it will be a GOOD time if we can ge a few people to go.

post up if you want to go....LETS DO THIS!!!!

(the ride will be at a B to A- rate)

(i posted this up last friday night for last saturday which i know is way too little notice, so we'll give a bigger gap and see the response)

no one wants to go to skaggs? or is it still too early to know?

I've been trying to get to Skaggs Spring Road for a few months now and could make the run on Saturday, the 25th.

My plan was to go north on Highway 1 and come back on 128 and 29, ending up in Vallejo. There doesn't seem to be any decent route from there back to Pleasanton, so just finish up on the freeway.

I prefer to do all of the more technical riding early in the day and sort of cruise on the way back, which is why I would do Highway 1 first and leave 128 and 29 to the end. I don't even want to bother with 101.

Oh, and I would prefer to start earlier as well. I hate to take the chance of coming back from a long ride in the dark.

the way it is set up would put me back in concord in 7 hrs, leaving at 9am would make that 4pm, i had no intention of smashing on the coast, bu tnow that you mention it.....but i also wanted to stop at stinson on the way back to grab a bite to eat. my intentions: get to skaggs asap, ride skaggs back and fourth a few times, head to the coast, and ride down aggressively but nothing killer and go over san rafael/richmond bridge on the way home....any other suggestions are welcome

Hey guys, iam B-pace rider & have been wanting to go to skaggs for a while. Since
it will be my 1st time, i might end up being lower B pace ... so if there is a good
number of turn-out, i will join along. I ride from foster city.

cool, jay, the more the merrier, trying to get at LEAST ten people to come

I'm not coming with your group, but there is about an 80% chance that I'll ride there, starting in San Francisco and following Highway 1 all the way up. I don't know if I'll make multiple passes on Skaggs or not. I'll be on a yellow Ducati ST2 with attached hard bags, and will be wearing black leathers with a solid yellow helmet.

Wave to me if you see me. :cool

will do..... i think i might go rogue on this one too because of the lame turn out.....i'll probably head up 101 and stop at the (texaco i think) gas station in town and hopefully meet up with someone there. Make sure to have your cell phone handy and a reliable person on speed dial if you end up going down riding by yourself. (God willing this doesn't happn, butcha know, for safety measures)

I was actually going to look for a Speed Triple when I got to Skaggs, but at the halfway point where the goat trail portion switches to the racetrack portion, there must have been 150 bikes. More bikes than I've seen at Alices on a good day.

I just cruised right on past.

I love that road though, and the entire ride was great. Traffic on Highway 1 was light and I was able to take some interesting roads coming back, at least until I got to I-680.
