haha..I know this is not good... My motor died on me at Infineon...Anyone have any good guesses?. Going to be talking with the guys at BRG Racing who built this motor previously. Always nice to get a second opinion and share the pics with others. haha. There are more pics on the photobucket site if ya want to see the actual motor. http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o102/commo27/600rr/Motor/

Looks like a rod bearing that REALLY spun and disintegrated. Images 1864 and 1862 show a severely overheated rod. The rod is toast and almost for sure the crank too. plus all the tiny bits of metal floating about the motor......

A little WD40 and JB Weld will fix that right up.

Hmmm very interesting..Good to know. Thanks for that quick analysis....I really dont know what im looking at..haha

hmm well time to get things fixed before Thill, Hopefully it wont cost me an arm and leg..Maybe just a leg..haha

You need to determine the cause of the failure or it will most likely happen again. The rod and main clearances need to be verified, the oil pump checked and anything else related needs to be gone over very thoroughly.

OK, I'm bored, so a bit of help to show you what these guys are talking about. Below is a pic of your crank and piston. The pieces you are seeing in your pictures are #7 and/or #9 in the pic. #7 is the rod bearing that Alan is describing, and #9 are the main bearings. (sorry, I'm too lazy to resize right now.)

If the pieces you had were a bit smaller, we would say that you 'spun' a bearing. In other words, the bearing didn't stay in place like it's supposed to and 'spun' with the crank or rod. This effectively shaves the bearings.

Your pieces, on the other hand, are ginormous meaning that your motor really grenaded itself.

Any number of things can cause main or rod bearing failure including oil starvation.

(Guys: Please correct me if I'm wrong.) :teeth

That motor now needs to be completely disassembled and torn down to the last piece, and the oil passages and jets checked and cleaned. It is a TASK to remove rod bearing material from a motor. I have done two and it takes time.

Oh yea, Im sure there are bits and peices everywhere....I got 3 weeks i think. Hmm hopefully i get it done before then...
