I've been looking for a new pair of boots lately and I've narrowed it down to three. The Sidi Strada Evo Te-Por, Gaerne G RT Touring Boot and the Oxtar SS Performance 2 Boot. This list is based on my criteria of all around function, comfort and price. I currently wear Dainese touring boots, I've used these for daily commuting to trackdays for a few years now. These 3 boots offer more protection than my Dainese but I'm wondering if the Oxtar and Gaerne with toe sliders offer greater protection than the Sidi. I've never dragged a toe at the track or in the canyons so is this a feature that I should ignore? Also, if anyone has one of these boots I'm curious what you think of them.
If you run stock pegs and start getting faster and start using more lean angle there is a chance you may start dragging your toes.
I wear Alpine Stars and the offer plenty of protection

So they're only for high lean angle situations? Or do they help in crashes also?

I always thought they'd help in a crash. If you slide on your side you wouldn't want the outside of your boot to wear away. Having titanium/plastic/whatever is better than simply leather.
