yeah, i agree. there was 2 nice yellow/black 05's on here for like 8200?? you can expect a little more for an 06' w low mileage.

Bikes lose a LOT of value in the first year (30-40%). I'm going through the pain on a 06 Aprilia Tuono. KBB is a good guide of values. Sadly nice accessories don't add much at all to the value. Nice GSXR though!

Suggested Retail Value
$8635
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.
I gave you the suggested retail....just to show you what its really worth. The 2008's are coming in. Try craigslists to see if a squid in training will buy it for over 9g's.

Determining a sale price of a bike has nothing to do with KBB, unfortunately, because one has to factor in all the emotial attachment too.
From my own experience I can tell you that a bike is worth (or perceived as such) way more to a seller than to a buyer.
You just can't help it but to feel that your bike is worth more...to you... :teeth
There is nothing wrong with it though. For every bike/price there is a buyer. you just have to be more patient.
But, if you do want a quick sale, you've got to try and keep your emotions in check and see what comparables are at this particular time. Now is the worst time to sell bike since the new models re coming out and everyone is selling their bikes: AFM season is over, and the trackdays / street riding has dwindled to a minimum.
So, here is one way to do it:
- take off ALL afetmarket parts and sell them separately. It will lower the price of the bike and make it more. More hassle and more things to sell, but the bike will look actually MORE attractive stock and you will not be reeling from the feeling that you are losing so much money in AM components. Your is pretty stock, so you are in a good shape there.
- be patient, keep re-listing and hoping for a miracle buyer (they DO exist, you know, it's just a matter of time to find one). Craigslist is your friend. :teeth
- keep your eyes open, go to Racers Corner and see if if anyone is looking for a street bike to be converted to a track bike: rather than buy a new bike, many racers would rather buy slightly use street bike, because it IS cheaper after all, and they can sell street stuff to get some money back
Gixxer 1K is a popular bike so you will not have too much trouble selling it. Do check the racing crowd - pronto - as if they are starting to get ready for '08 season.

8500.00? It's a fair price all things considered. Especially if you just hate the new dual pipe set-up with the sissy "Drive Mode" selector switch that on the new ones..................
