(posted on CL for $1950)

Hi Everyone,

If you know sport bikes, you will know that I am selling the perfect all round bike from beginners all the way to advanced riders - the yamaha FZR600. Don't be fooled by the age of the bike. If you are starting to ride or even looking for a track bike, this would be the one. Perfect for the mountains. Very manuverable, much more superior to the yzf600r. You can bin it and still keep going. I have never dropped it as long as I owned it (bought in december 06). This bike has no mechanical problems. Very stable in the mountain, freeway, or local roads. It needs nothing except a rider! I'm selling to make room for a newer bike.

has approx 16120 original miles. it's not a flawless bike - it's 17 years old, but still in great condition.
previous owner put a full system vance&hines as well as jet kit. Dyno tuned

Over the past year, these items have been done to it. You can easily see I've put in over $1500 into this bike to get it running in top condition:
- Battery: new december 06,
- Battery: trickle charged battery during non-use (and levels properly maintained with dH20)
- Engine oil: regular changes. Does not leak a drop of oil (or any other fluid)!
- Front fairing: added for wind protection
- Tires: new bridgestone battlax tires (Front and Rear) mounted approx 2500 miles ago (feb 07). still have 80% life left and not squared off
- Forks: seals and oil redone about the same time as tires
- Engine cover: NRC right peanut engine case cover
- Chain: cleaned and lubed with simple green and teflon waxy lube regularly every 500 miles. set to correct sag
- Gas Tank: received internal de-rust treatment and protection (caswell)
- CCT: A.P.E. cam chain tensioner installed properly at TDC
- Spark Plugs: Iridium NGK CR9IEX plugs added in July 07
- Brakes: steel braided front brake line (russell) - Brakes: bled front/back
- Radiator fluid: flushed 1 month ago (and burped for air bubbles), some old gaskets changed also
- Engine: valve clearance adjustment and carb sync 2 months ago. VC gasket changed as well
- Carbs: carburetors cleaned / jets cleared 2 month ago (but they were already clear), float bowl gaskets replaced
- Carbs: new carb boots
- Wiring: headlight system wiring upgraded to accomodate 55W/60W headlights by integrating 30A automotive relay so headlight switch wont burn out
- Voltage Regulator: regulator/rectifier upgraded to yzf600r/r6/r1 model (has fins on heatsink)
- hope i'm not missing anything. just ask!

if you want to race it or take it to the track, no need to drill any of the bolts. just bring your safety wire. catch can already installed.

this bike is perfect / clean / smooth and ready to ride. plastics are not oem except the front cowl.

no registration back fees to pay.
current registration and sticker. clean title
damper included but i pulled it off the bike since it's leaking.
lots of extra parts (oil filters, misc nuts and bolts, etc)
bike has ALWAYS been garaged, never parked overnight outside.

please ask questions and / or make me a good offer! don't lowball me. if you disagree with the price, let me know why. now is the best time to buy since the season is winding down but the selection in bikes hasnt taken a hit.

what do you think it should be?

ffej
11-22-2007, 12:10 PM
you should ride it to MSF on Saturday or Sunday (in Mountain View) and let me look at it. :thumbup

I've already decided that my wife's EX250 just isn't big enough to fit me comfortably. If'n I were 4-6" shorter it'd be perfect :D

sorry, i've already ridden it to a place in sunnyvale for a person who told me he totally wanted to buy it. but he changed his mind on the spot. after that, i decided no riding to places to show people the bike. if they're really serious about the bike, they'd make the effort to check it out where it is... sorry :teeth

pm me if interested :thumbup

Nice, clean bike; good luck with the sale!! :thumbup

Folks, please follow the Buying/Selling Rules at top of this Forum and keep any negative comments to yourselves or to PM's. :cool (For EM not fejj.)

Hmmm, taking an entry-level low-priced bike to local MSF classes *may* expose it to the 'right' audience! :shhh

;)
