2000 Ducati 996 race bike. This bike has an interesting history. It was originally a yellow '99 748 Biposto street bike that was converted to an AMA Pro-Thunder machine, ridden by James Lickwar and supported by Munroe Motors, BCM and others. James took it to the 2000 Laguna Seca podium, then sold it to me in 2001. It already had many trick parts, and over the years I've added many, many more. I raced it in AFM for three years as an 800-cc machine, then swapped in a '00 996 motor that was built by BCM and raced it on-and-off for two more years.

This is a unique dedicated track machine with very few original-equipment parts left on it - it handles beautifully at race speeds, and is very fast for a 996. Street bike conversion possible with bodywork, lights, etc. sourced elsewhere. Extensive service history, mostly from Nichols and Desmotosport, with fresh belts, recent valve check, good rockers. Detailed specifications are below.

I may wind up doing exactly that. :teeth Not a huge market for an old 996 even if it's sweet, I may end up keeping it as a track machine and maybe racing it again once it becomes eligible for Super Dinosaur, which looks ripe for picking with a few minor mods in about two years. :teeth
