Last week I had one of my throttle cables snap on, so I replaced both and have been noticing a few things since. I think I need to tune the carbs since I've been smelling some unburned gas and have notably less power than before. Also my throttle was sticking around 2k (normally around 1300) when warmed up, choke off, and the grip was in its resting position. Also I've been wondering if theres any way to adequately lube the cables without a pressure injector(or whatever they call that specialized tool).

Sounds like you havent adjusted your cables correctly. One cable is for the throttle to return. Also make sure to run the cable where they were ran from the factory, and check for anything that might be pinching the cable. check the manual if you have it.

you could take a little straw and flatten it so it fits into your cable.
