So.. I think I want to ride the track more often and want to run slicks.
Husky 510 BTW.

So two questions.

1. Do I just buy stock wheels from Husky? Or is an aftermarket set better?? Available?

2. Which slicks and why.. folks say an avg. guy like me can't get the good shit anyway.. so what is best for a guy who can't get the goods??

Thanks

If u are going to get a dedicated set for the track I'd suggest some Marchesini's no tubes and 30% lighter :cool also get the 17x5 inch rear so you can run 165's or 160's.

Hit them up:)

I might be selling the stockers off of my 07 510. Im waiting for an approval from my in house accountant..should know by the end of the week. Theres a guy on smjunkie (huskymotard) selling a set of stockers off his 610....he still might have them.

Why buy another set of wheels? Just think of how many sets of slicks you would have to go through before you justify the cost of those new wheels. I say put the slicks on and ride it. I've run nothing but slicks on my drz for almost a year. I'm using the Maxxis Presa slicks cause they were the cheapest I could find. They are medium compound so they have lasted a while. They perform Good on the street, Great on the track and not as bad as you would think in the rain! :teeth

Well... let me know on the stock wheels after the accountant give you the nod.

I am just nervous.. I guess about being busted for slick on the street.. off to the LEO forum for a question. :later

I counted 6 bikes under your avatar!

Make the move to a trackbike. I did for my own reasons, one being I was tired of being so slow on the XRL. The other was the amount of $$ I was spending making a SM. Mondo forgot to metion how much fun slicks are in the dirt. You workin sunday? Last weekend at Stockton.

Dennis, what happened to the R6?

The R6 is still in the stable.. I just have a knee issue keeping me from doing the sport bike track day dealio.. Tards knee angle is much more crippled guy friendly.

It needs love..

OBS.. I am considering a track only bike.. Would have to sell one bike as the garage is full.. unless I dump all the wifes Xmas stuff.. (bad idea) :teeth

Not to undercut the Budman, but let me know, also. I would still like to get a SuperMoto set for the TE, especially after watching Saint Louis last night. After Bud's first right of refusal, of course.

Not to hijack, but related: Do any of you Husky owners know if it's possible to get a set of wheels say off of a TE 510 (I have the 510 SM) to have a set for street and one for trails?

Of course, that will give you a 320 MM front brake on a dirt bike. Can you say faceplant? I know you can get an adapter to move the caliper out on a TE to use a 320, can you move the caliper in if you go the other direction?
