hi guys i own 02 cbr 954rr motor blew up last month so i found a used motor with forged pistons and back cut tranny.
so i took blown motor out and install the newer motor in everything is fine but the startor dosent work it cranked for 3 sec and then nothin my buddy who was helping me out told me that since the new motor has forged pistons(higher compression) i might need aftermarket startor. is that true if yes where can i find one if not what could it be thats wrong, i took it out and jumped it it spins.......
all inputs will be appreciated im this close to part it out cuz i got so much money into it but would prefer if i can get it run. thanks guys

The stock starter should crank the motor.

Its either your battery or your starter clutch is jammed or borken. Or maybe a mechanical issue with the engine itself. Who knows...

When you put a load on the starter motor, its much different than jumping it and letting it turn freely. 1st guess-battery.
